Beginnings is a registered ministry of First Baptist Church dedicated to offering high-quality, affordable preschool and child care to the community. Beginnings Preschool offers a four-part developmental program designed to meet the physical, spiritual, social, and emotional needs of children from six weeks through age five.
Demand from First Baptist Church’s large congregation led the center to expand its capacity from 40 to approximately 120 children. To support this growth, additional physical space was needed for the center, along with a playground expansion and vehicle purchase.
First Baptist Church engaged SGA Strategies to support both the resource development and real estate development and acquisition needed for Beginnings’ expansion.
SGA Strategies helped First Baptist Church launch Beginnings CDC, a community development corporation, and successfully secure a federal grant for the childcare center’s expansion.
Through creative financing, the church and childcare center were able to complete the space build-out, playground expansion, and vehicle purchase without taking on debt.
The result? A sustainable business model that has enabled Beginnings to grow into the childcare center it is today.
