Expansion into Trucking Industry

Strategic Planning & Project Design

The Economic and Community Development Institute (ECDI) of Columbus, Ohio has partnered with SGA Strategies for over a decade in launching creative solutions and programs.

ECDI is widely recognized as an innovator and effective community development financer. Years ago, ECDI sought to break into the trucking industry and invested in the development of a trucking business.

The conditions to support expansion of trucking in Ohio dramatically shifted between the period which financing was obtained and the actual launch of the business.

To help the organization adjust to this severe market change and maintain its return on investment, SGA Strategies led ECDI in high-level strategic thinking and project re-design. The result? The creation of the ECDI’s Food Fort. The Food Fort is an industrial-sized facility offering all the physical resources a restaurant or food-based business needs, along with training, services, and access to capital.
